Based in Singapore, Wei Siong is a Freelance Lighting Designer and Programmer with experience in the Arts & Entertainment industry as well as the MICE events industry. He channels his freelance engagements through Black Ops Lighting while also overseeing the lighting department at Lighthouse Evangelism church as a staff.


Wei Siong's journey into lighting design and programming began as a volunteer in a church ministry. He started designing and programming for Praise and Worship for church services, Easter/Christmas drama productions, and various mega-church events such as Asia Conference 2010 and Festival of Praise 2009.

He graduated from ITE in Lighting & Sound and holds a diploma in Events Management from Kaplan. He also pursued further education at Lasalle College of the Arts to broaden his knowledge in other aspects of lighting. Though he did not complete the program, he persevered and self-taught to become a designer and has since taken on multiple projects in the industry.


As a Programmer, he has experience in various kinds of events, such as Conferences, Dinner & Dance, Awards Ceremonies, Product Launches, Fashion Shows, and Concerts, including Wang Lee Hom Music Man II (Programmer) and Sing50 (Operator).


As a Designer, he has worked on Theatrical Productions such as Musicals, Dramas, and Dance, including Lim Boon Keng: The Musical, Sunburst 2019 (Fundraising concert), and multiple secondary school productions with Inward Bound.


Wei Siong prides himself on expressing his design through colors that showcase the emotion behind it. His values of being Vibrant allow him to create atmospheric places for his audience that transport them to another world, coupled with other elements in a production. Ultimately, his aim is to deliver captivating and engaging moments that leave a lasting memory for the viewers.
